Microsoft conducts a survey to its Xbox users about adding a Bitcoin payment option to the store.
The tech giant seemed to be changing its stance on being more approachable with the cryptocurrency industry amid the current hype. Microsoft has been asking its Xbox gaming console users about the probability of launching payment methods like bitcoin.
The poll is the first of its kind released by the Tech Giant that has questions about crypto.
As per a post in Reddit, a user reported that Microsoft has started to show polls along with the topic “payment Options,” surveying the people with questions like how they pay for their purchases in Xbox.
One of the survey items inquires the Xbox users about their thoughts on the recent range of options about the payment options available. But then, the poll puts out the following question:
Among the answers, “pay with bitcoin” is one of Microsoft’s alternatives to the users. The survey concludes with a question that asks people if they have ever decided not to purchase something from Xbox “because your preferred payment method was not available.”
The poll comes as a surprise for the Xbox gaming community, however, even more for the crypto users. In an interview, last February 2021, Microsoft’s president, Brad Smith, stated that the tech giant hasn’t discussed bitcoin-related topics during their meetings.
Still, Microsoft hasn’t been oblivious to the latest technological developments in the crypto world.
Last year, the tech giant patented a crypto mining system that will leverage human activities, this includes brain waves and body heat, when performing online tasks like using search engines, chatbots, and reading ads.
