A Chilean NGO recently hosted several conferences about cryptocurrencies and blockchain topics for educational purposes, titled “Cryptonight 2020”, where they announced the preparation of a proposal to submit it in the context of the drafting of the new constitution and the publication of crypto blacklist.
Chilean NGO will submit a proposal including Crypto-related matters in drafting a new constitution.
The founder and president of ONG Bitcoin Chile, Miguel Klagges, published a list of alleged crypto scams that have a background of stealing funds from different investors, who promised to get high returns in exchange for the investments through bogus and multi-level marketing schemes.
The list included 29 websites blacklisted on the ONG Bitcoin Chile Site as of now, and Klagges stated that they would be updating it based on what the regulators and press media report around the world about crypto scams.
But the alleged fraudulent sites aren’t the only offer bogus investment funds; they also provide trading signals or referral schemes, pretending to be academies to attract people, which turn to be Ponzi scams in reality.
Is this a Constitutional Protection to the Chilean Crypto Industry?
The second announcement of the NGO is connected to the new Constitution drafting process, which has been approved last October in a referendum.
Klagges also said that they are working on designing a legal proposal that will be presented to the constitutionalists. They have been expected to be elected in 2021, in charge of drafting the latest Magna Carta. The draft aims to “promote and protect” the crypto and blockchain industry in the country.
The initiative will have the participation of local crypto representatives who will see in the draft constitutional guarantees for developing the crypto sphere in the nation.
