Brave Browser will extend BAT to Binance Smart Chain.
Privacy centered Brave Browser had extended its Ethereum-based digital currency, Basic Attention Token (BAT), to the Binance Smart Chain ecosystem. The recent development means thatt BAT holders could now access many projects on BSC, including its decentralized finance (DeFi) services.
BAT Debuts as a Wrapped Token
The Brave token has been launched as an ERC-20 standard token. But it can now be used on the BSC ecosystem as a wrapped token, which will make it possible for BAT holders to access BSC projects like the PancakeSwap, BakerySwap, Beefy Finance, etc., through “numerous bridges that connect Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain.”
Brave also intends to preconfigure support for BSC on its Browser wallet this year to enable the users to directly access the BSC service without needing to download additional applications. Additionally, Brave also planned to leverage the low transaction fee on the BSC network to enable the scalable P2P tipping in its browser.
Brave is now added to the list of popular Ethereum platforms that have migrated to the BSC network for some reasons that have cheaper transaction fees.
Monthly Users of BAT Surpasses $3 Million
BAT is a cryptocurrency with a fast-growing demand. It is the utility token of Brave Browser, which sees over 25 million monthly active users (MAU). over 3.8 million users transact with the cryptocurrency on a monthly basis.
BAT now trades at $1.20 on Coingecko at the time. It then surged by over 7% on the 24-hour count, after the announcement last Monday. Its market cap now sits at $1.7 billion.
