As sources say about the matter, IBM’s division has poised to launch a distributed ledger technology (DLT) health verification system to combat the raging pandemic. The platform seeks to enable individuals’ safe return to their shared physical spaces like churches, offices, schools, stadiums, and so many others.
IBM’s data analytics firm, IBM Watson, has unveiled a Digital Health Pass to allow the organizations to create their criteria for COVID-19 health verification.
The criteria may include test results and some temperature scans to generate the individual’s past. These criteria are then recorded and are shared using the IBM Blockchain network.
The general manager of IBM Watson Health, Paul Roma, has noted that even though the companies seek solutions to help individuals return to public spaces, they are then also determined to protect the users’ privacy.
As per the report, the digital pass will knock “sophisticated cryptographic techniques” to verify the individuals’ health status; while ensuring that the underlying data is not publicized.
The project’s website displays that the users can efficiently manage their information thru an encrypted smartphone wallet app. Remarkably, people can also view health results thru scanning of QR code in the app. After that, the code can be viewed by the parties with access to the user’s data.
Blockchain to Battle COVID-19
A band of companies is also considering blockchain technology to be ready into battling the COVID-19 danger.
