Is it Really Doge?
But it does not seem to be the case. The image on the Amazon app was really a “Corgi” and Dogecoin’s “Shiba Inu,” as a lot of DOGE fans assume. The users of Amazon confirmed this, stating that the corgi image has been on the mobile app for many years now.
For the time being, it does not negotiate the reality that a number of Dogecoin enthusiasts wanted Amazon to accept the meme cryptocurrency as a payment. Dogecoin is now the fourth largest by market capitalization.
Dogecoin fanatics want Amazon to approve DOGE
In a survey recently conducted by GamblersPick, around 53% of the respondents stated that they want Dogecoin payments to be accepted by Amazon. Evidently, a good number of them believe that the meme cryptocurrency is the prospect and the “next Bitcoin.”
Amazon is not the only large company that have expressed their participation in cryptocurrency payments and blockchain technologies.
As of now, DOGE was listed at $0.5007 on CoinMarketCap. On a weekly analysis, the meme crypto lost around 11.5% of its value. Now its market capitalization hangs around $64.8 billion.
Last Tuesday, Elon Musk initiated a poll on Twitter on whether to accept Dogecoin for payment in Tesla. As of now, the results show that around 78% out of more than 3 million respondents wanted the electric car company to add Dogecoin (DOGE) as a payment option.
