A Ripple board member, Ken Kurson, has been arrested for cyberstalking charges. He is now in federal custody.
Kurson is acknowledged for his political and cryptocurrency affiliations. He had founded Modern Consensus in 2018 and started the New Jersey Globe, a political website.
In the past, he had helmed the New York Observer from 2013 to 2017; he served as the editor in chief. It is where Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, was the publisher.
Kurson’s connection with the Trump family takes back to the year 2008, but when he was involved with Rudy Giuliani’s failed presidential campaign and has written a book with him afterward; Giuliani is one of Trump’s lawyers. Kurson then resumed presidential politics to work on a speech for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
In 2017, he has joined Ripple’s board while being with the Observer. Ripple announced that “Kurson provides unique editorial and analyst expertise that will help support Ripple’s work to drastically increase the speed and efficiency of cross-border payments.”
The criminal investigation was numerous years in the making and scuttled Kurson’s selection to the National Endowment for the Humanities in 2018. In 2017, he has joined Ripple’s board while being with the Observer. Ripple announced that “Kurson provides unique editorial and analyst expertise that will help support Ripple’s work to drastically increase the speed and efficiency of cross-border payments.”
