Brave breached 25 Million active users

Brave, a privacy-focused internet browser, stated today that it had reached a new milestone. The browser hit 25 million monthly active users for the first time in January, achieving a period of enormous growth for the company. The number of active users grew from 11.6 to 25.4 million within the last year.

The browser also recorded an increase in the number of active daily users, with the number climbing from 3.8 to 8.6 million. These numbers would imply that internet users are beginning to acknowledge the browser’s superior data privacy feature.

Brendan Eich, CEO and co-founder of the web browser, stated that,

“Users are realizing that a new way to browse the Web is just one click away with a seamless Brave download and that they can opt-out of the surveillance economy and instead get rewarded for browsing,”

Users are rewarded with the Basic Attention Token (BAT) by opting for the privacy-preserving Brave Ads, which has 4.3 million monthly users with over 12 million wallets.

Brave currently runs adverts for over 465 brands like Verizon, The Home Depot, The New York Times, Progressive Insurance, Newegg, Ledger, Amazon, Harry’s Razors, CBS, Logitech, Lenovo, Grubhub, Belkin, Quickbooks, and Evernote.

Brave users can support verified creators with BATs in appreciation of their efforts. They can do this by using Brave Rewards and its integrated Brave wallet feature.

Creators on websites like YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, GitHub, etc., can receive these BAT as users browse or through the recurring monthly Auto-Contribute payments the user will activate.

Brave also announced today that the number of verified creators breached the 1 million mark for the first time along with the active user milestone.

Speaking about the company’s future goals, Brendan Eich continued, “As the global privacy movement swells in 2021 and as fewer users trust Big Tech, we look forward to bringing more innovative privacy-protecting tools to our users, and to reforming invasive Web tracking practices.”

Brave launched its Tor Onion Service last year to ensure that its users continue to enjoy complete security and privacy.
